最後の踏ん張りでもう一回りしてきた。まずはセントラルパークに挨拶。また来るよと言ってきた。次に懸案だったプラザホテルに侵入。意外にすんなり入れた。ホテルのロビーはロープで仕切られていてゲストしか入れないが他のショップやレストランは誰でもOK。そりゃ、そうだ。金儲けだものな。ホテルの造りは荘厳で格式を感じた。きっと何でも高いのだろうな。お茶の一杯も飲まずにすぐ出てきた。私の身の丈にあっていない。
バーグドルフ・グッドマンのショーウィンドを見てきたが綺麗だった。この界隈はティファニーにプラダなどのブランドの店が並ぶ。トランプタワーもあり、最近は治安のためにバス停2つが止まらないで通過することになっている。みんなは腹を立てている。
次はMOMA に向かう。メンバーになるのに年会費70ドルを払っているので、使わなくては。緊急のトイレの場所として想定していたが、今回もそういう使い方だった。ここの展示物も少し見たがもうどうでもいい。お土産コーナーで来年のカレンダーなどを手に取りレジに並んだが、ものすごい人数が並んでいたので、いったんものを返して、昼飯を取ることにした。MOMAを出て、どこか探そうとして見渡したら向かいに中華レストラン「チャイナグリル」があった。チャイナタウン以外で中華を食べることも珍しいが、とりあえず中に入る。一人の客はカウンターに行けと言われてそうした。ニューヨークは大体そうなのか。混むから2人席も無駄にしたくないのだ。Bento Boxが約20ドルだった。Bentoってもはや英語なんだな。画像があるから帰国したら入れよう。サラダ、前菜、メインにもう一品の四品であった。これにピノグリで40ドル。まぁいいところか。シーザーサラダ、牛肉の餃子、メインはココナッツミルクの大エビ、さらに炒飯。本当は単品で炒飯を頼もうとしていたが、あんな不味いフライドライスを山盛り持ってこられたら、往生するところだった。
